Vendure Agency & Development - Official Vendure Partner from Germany

I've been working with Vendure since the beta - as a developer, community moderator and official partner. SpaceParrots handles Vendure consulting, plugin development, storefronts and migrations: TypeScript, GraphQL, open source.

Why Vendure

When Vendure is the right choice

Vendure is an open-source headless commerce framework built on TypeScript, Node.js and GraphQL. It plays to its strengths when your business model doesn't fit a standard shop.

B2B commerce

Price lists, customer groups, approval workflows - business logic that standard shops have to be bent around is cleanly extensible in Vendure.

Multi-vendor marketplaces

Multiple sellers, channels, commissions and payouts - the architecture I built fainin with.

Subscriptions & rentals

Subscriptions, booking periods and recurring payments instead of one-off orders - not prescribed by the framework, which is exactly why they're easy to implement well.

Custom business logic

Vendure is a framework, not a shop builder: every rule of your business model becomes a first-class plugin - testable, versioned, upgrade-safe.

And when Vendure isn't the right fit

For a standard shop without special requirements, Shopware or Shopify are often the faster and cheaper choice. I'll tell you that honestly in the intro call - even if the recommendation goes against Vendure.

Services

Vendure development from a single source

From the architecture decision to operations - all in TypeScript, all open source.

End-to-end project development

Vendure backend, admin customizations and a headless storefront (Angular, Next.js or Nuxt) - from the first architecture decision to go-live with Docker deployment.

Plugin development & custom logic

Payments, KYC, booking systems, ERP integrations: I've built 20+ production Vendure plugins and publish tooling like vex, a CLI & MCP server for the Vendure Admin API.

Migration to Vendure

Step-by-step migration from legacy shops or other headless systems - currently, for example, a Medusa-to-Vendure migration for a US retail SaaS. Data migration, redirects and SEO preservation included.

Architecture review & team enablement

A review of your existing Vendure codebase, monorepo setup (Nx) and workshops so your team can carry on independently afterwards - handover instead of dependency.

System Comparison

Vendure vs. Shopware & co.

I've taken both systems to production - here's the short version, the honest comparison is one click away.

Reference

fainin - a marketplace built entirely on Vendure

As co-founder and CTO I built Germany's largest P2P rental marketplace on Vendure: bookings instead of purchases, KYC verification, insurance up to €15,000, Stripe Connect payouts - all as Vendure plugins.

Frequently asked questions about Vendure

Vendure is an open-source headless commerce framework based on TypeScript, Node.js and GraphQL. Shop logic runs as an API server and the frontend is yours to choose - ideal when the business model doesn't fit a standard shop.

The Vendure core is free (GPLv3). Costs arise for development, hosting and optionally Vendure Cloud. Project costs depend on scope - an MVP is far cheaper than a platform with many integrations.

Yes - for teams that speak TypeScript, work API-first and have plenty of custom business logic. For standard shops with little custom logic, Shopware remains a good choice in the DACH region.

Both are Node.js frameworks. Vendure builds on NestJS and GraphQL with a strongly typed plugin architecture, Medusa on REST and modular services. I'm currently migrating a project from Medusa to Vendure and know both sides.

A focused MVP typically takes 8-12 weeks. Migrations and platforms with many integrations need 3-6 months, depending on complexity.

Yes. Channels, sellers and extensible order flows make Vendure a strong base for multi-vendor marketplaces and B2B commerce - fainin is the proof in production.

Yes, ideally step by step: data migration, parallel operation, redirects and SEO preservation. I'm currently guiding a Medusa-to-Vendure migration and have delivered legacy migrations to Vendure.

Yes. Vendure runs self-hosted on your infrastructure in the EU - full data control with no forced US SaaS. One of the most underrated advantages over cloud commerce providers.
